Happy spring, and Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads out there! I hope this message finds you well.

Volunteer Opportunity: Motorized Trail Ambassador Program

We’re thrilled to announce that the Wildridge Trail Coalition, in collaboration with the Forest Service, has expanded our Motorized Trail Ambassador Program into the Red and White Mountain area. We’re looking for volunteers to help educate trail users on proper etiquette, the principles of "Stay the Trail," local hazards, and seasonal wildlife closures.

If you’re already out enjoying the trails, why not join us and make a difference? Signing up is easy on our website. The training takes about 45 minutes and can be completed virtually or in person on June 23 at 10 a.m. at the Red Table OHV lot off Cottonwood Pass. This session will be followed by a dirt bike ride with the Forest Service OHV crew on the Basalt to Gypsum trail system. Interested in volunteering? Please email me at devon@wildridgetrailcoalition.org.

Trail Updates

Lower elevation areas like McCoy, Hardscrabble, Red Hill - Gypsum, Bocco Mountain, and Fitzpatrick are open. Higher elevations remain closed for wildlife. The Basalt to Gypsum, Red and White, Muddy Pass systems, and Camp Hale will open on June 21. Before you head out, check COTREX for current trail conditions and seasonal closures.

Report Trail Issues

If you come across trails needing cleanup or maintenance, let us know. The BLM, Forest Service, and WTC are committed to maintaining our trails, and we’ll strive to address any issues you report.
