Stuck or Stranded call list and Volunteer Opportunity on the new Windy Point OHV route

Happy summer! I hope you are having many fun and safe adventures in the beautiful outdoors!

One of our WTC donors had a great idea. He recommended we compile a list of folks that you could call should you get stuck or have a mechanical issue on Red and White Mountain, between Muddy Pass and Red Sandstone Road. If you frequent this area and would be willing to help others in need, please email me at devon@wildridgetrailcoalition.org. Please let me know too your suggestions on the best way to post or distribute this list of contacts.

On Thursday, July 29th, the Forest Service Trail Crew will be hosting a Volunteer Day on the new FSR 993.W1, Windy Point, near the west intersection of 734 and 700.  The road is a short route that offers a scenic vista of the Eagle River Valley. The project is to build a low-lying fence along the last 450' of the road as it is in an open meadow and has two non-system routes that head to the east and the west. The fence will block access to the non-system routes and delineate the true route. We will also be slashing in the non-system routes.

I would love for WTC to be represented at this project. The start time is 10:00am. A youth group from Walking Mountains Science Center will be at the project too. If you are interested in volunteering, please complete our WTC Volunteer Sign Up form, indicate in the comments section you will be attending the Windy Point work day, then click on the big blue button to complete and e-sign you Participation Agreement and Waiver. I will push out more details and a location pin when we get closer.

Please let me know if you have questions or if I can help in any way.

Thank you for your support!
